NO COUNTRY FOR YOUNG MEN
The 15Th of March 2011 has been a historic date for young people in Gaza Strip. For the first time, they dared speaking up against Hamas' Islamic government and against the separation of Palestine in two rival parties, Hamas in Gaza and Fatah in the West Bank, putting 300 thousand people together in an unprecedented rally. Many of them were beaten and imprisoned. No Country For Young Men is a 15 minutes documentary about young people in Gaza Strip, with interviews about their dreams and the prohibitions they have to face. It's an independent movie, produced in Gaza Strip in spring 2011. presstv.ir The United Nations launched an emergency appeal for just over $300 million to assist Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank who are still dealing with the effects of Israeli military attacks and the trauma of living under occupation. The appeal focuses on three strategic priorities; food security, protection and emergency response capability. Eighty per cent of the requested funds will be used to promote food security through food assistance, cash assistance and job creation programs. A quarter of the UNRWA appeal is for the West Bank, where forced displacements, settlement expansion, and settler violence are taking a devastating toll on the communities UNRWA serves. In this edition of the show we look at in detail at the needs of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, highlighting the dependence of Palestinians of these kinds of appeals from humanitarian organizations for their survival.

Fonti mediche e testimoni riportano che almeno due palestinesi sono stati uccisi in un attacco israeliano a nord della Striscia di Gaza assediata. Altre tre persone sono rimaste ferite nel raid aereo a Beit Hanun, vicino al confine con Israele, mercoledì 18 gennaio 2012. L'esercito israeliano d'occupazione ha confermato l'attacco, sostenendo che il suo attacco mirato a un gruppo di palestinesi che tentano di piazzare esplosivi nei pressi della barriera di sicurezza. Israele effettua frequentemente attacchi, sia aerei che di terra, contro il territorio palestinese.
